This kit came with a lot of crochet tools and a bit of quality yarn. The directions it comes with are for small creations like keychains and it's not a whole lot of yarn but it's a great kit for learning how to crochet.

I received a crochet kit. It’s a gray koala with a green hat. The yarn material is so soft. I love it there’s a green or gray and black yarn. Everything you need to do the project is in the little box. There are step-by-step directions AND also video tutorials which are helpful! It seems like it’s gonna be so much fun and it seems straight forward. I’m excited to give this a try. I have wanted to try crochet for a long time so wish me luck.

I don't know if it's evident in the product page photos for this kit, but the yarn is a chenille yarn that has a wonderful feel... very much unlike yarn I've gotten in other kits of this type. I'm excited to work with this; it will make very soft, tactile, fuzzy-feeling amigurumi. This kit makes four very small animals that are intended to be used as fobs you attach to a backpack or purse; there are little hook rings with jingle bells on them that the animal is supposed to be attached to for hanging. All four of the hook rings in my kit are blue—it would have been better to have these in different colors that matched the yarn colors in each animal *especially* as the instructions show hook rings that are color-coordinated. The kit is assembled in such a way that all the required yarn for one animal is bundled together in a packet so you don't have to guess which yarn goes with which animal. There is a separate instruction sheet for each animal giving the pattern you are to follow. The stitches are very simple, basic crochet stitches: slip stitch, single crochet, increase, decrease, chain, magic ring. One pattern uses a half double crochet. These are all simple stitches that most beginners can master. There are no stitch instructions in the kit—if you don't already know how to do these basic stitches you will need to use the provided QR code to go online for further instruction. If you already know basic stitches, the kit is very self-contained and you can get started right away. The kit comes with everything you need to finish the project: yarn, stuffing, hooks, stitch markers, yarn needles, hook rings with jingle bells, eyes, glue sticks, and even a pair of snips. I like that the yarn needles come in a little tube as I am always losing these—and they are metal yarn needles, not plastic. The kit comes packed very tightly in an attractive box decorated on the outside with cute animals, and this nice presentation would make it a great gift for someone wanting to learn a new craft.

This is one of the better crochet kits for beginners that I have come across. Particularly because of how workable this yarn is. Many of these kits contain thin yarn prone to breaking or splitting but not this kit. The yarn provided here is a shiny plush yarn, easy to work with and see the stitches. Each round little plushie comes with a little book containing all of the instructions and easy to follow patterns, stitch markers, two crochet hooks with ergonomic handles, keychains and even stuffing. If you are looking for a true beginner kit that will not make your head spin or stress you out because of poor quality parts, this is the kit for you.

This listing states that this is for the beginner crocheter. That is me. Now I've seen some of the other review that state that this is a little advanced for a beginner and that there are some errors in the instructions. I'll be working on this with my mom, who knows how to crochet, so hopefully this will alleviate any issues that might arise. The kit is well put together and had instructions and QR codes for beginners to watch some videos, which I definitely appreciate. I figured that these were cute and will hopefully be fairly quick for me to make before the holidays, as I love the idea of attaching these to kids gifts as a little extra something cute. Once I make these, I'll update my review if needed. As of right now, it's 5 stars based on what I've seen from opening the package up and reviewing the pieces.
